All forms of contraception except the copper IUD are covered.

Consultations with your GP are also free.

Give your doctor your date of birth and PPS number and they will waive the consulation fee

How to get free contraception in Ireland

1. Doctor consultation & prescription

You will need to get a prescription for free contraception from a GP or online doctor.

GP consultations are free under the scheme.

Ask your doctor to send your prescription to us electronically using Healthmail

2. Register your details

We need a few details to register you with the HSE for Free Contraception.

You can register via our digital assistant here

3. Pharmacist consult & delivery

Once our pharmacist has received your prescription they contact you to confirm your order.

Your contraception will then be sent in discreet packaging and you will receive it in 1-2 days.

There is no delivery charge when you order 6 months.
