Product information
- Saxenda is used daily for weight loss
- Saxenda contains 5 x 3ml pens in a box
- Each 3ml pen contains 18mg of liraglutide
- You will start on 0.6mg daily for one week and increase by 0.6mg each week until you reach your maintenance dose which is usually 3mg
- On maintenance dose of 3mg, each pen will last 6 days
- Each pen as a “Dial-a-dose” that can inject 0.6, 1.2, 1.8, 2.4 or 3mg
BMI 35 or over
As of 1st January 2023, if your BMI is 35 or over & you are a pre-diabetic at risk of cardiovascular disease, Saxenda is covered on the Drugs Payment scheme, capping the monthly cost at €80.
Note: Your GP will need to register you for approval. BMI under 35
If your BMI is under 35, you will need to pay in full for Saxenda.

How to Order Saxenda
Ask your doctor or current pharmacy to send us your prescription electronically via Healthmail.
Our Healthmail address is healthwave.dundrum@healthmail.ie.
Healthmail is a system used to exchange prescriptions digitally between doctors & pharmacies and pharmacies with each other.
If you do not have a prescription you will need to get one from a doctor.
Once our pharmacists have received your prescription they will contact you by phone. Your medication will then be sent in discreet packaging and you will receive it in 1-2 days.

Nationwide Delivery
We deliver to all addresses in The Republic of Ireland, to both home and work/office locations. Once we have your prescription from your GP, your medications will be checked by our pharmacists and dispatched for next day delivery. We cannot ship prescription medications outside of Ireland due to regulations.
Discrete Packaging
All of our medication orders are sent in discreet packaging without any Healthwave branding on the outside. We use double walled cardboard boxes to protect your medications as well as specialised cold-chain packaging for fridge items.
