Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensor

The FreeStyle Libre 2 is and upgrade to the original FreeStyle Libre 1 sensor and now offers Continous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) without the need to scan the sensor with your phone for each reading.

The small, discreet sensor worn on the back of the upper arm continuously measures the glucose concentration in the body's interstitial fluid. It is worn for up to 14 days and is water-resistant so continues to work while you shower, swim or exercise.

You can use the FreeStyle Libre reader or FreeStyle LibreLink app to scan your FreeStyle Libre sensor and receive your current glucose reading, up to 8 hours of glucose history and an indication of where your glucose is heading. For a complete glycaemic picture, you must scan your FreeStyle Libre sensor every 8 hours.
